Consortium assessing grain-to-ethanol plant for Geelong

The Geelong Advertiser is reporting that a consortium of companies, including Marina Energy, Dong Mun I.R.S, Samsung and Kollon, are looking at the feasibility of developing a $200 million ethanol plant in the Geelong area.

Marinna Energy spokesman Gregg Finn has explained that the plant would turn grain into ethanol and then the waste would pass through an anaerobic digester, which would break down the organic waste into energy. This energy would be used to power the ethanol plant and any excess could be sold back to the grid.
