  1. Do you have a link? Very excited to have found your website by the way.

The solar powered electric scooter is awesome. Maybe you could do us a round up of electric scooters in Australia? There is next to nothing in Brisbane.

    Thanks
    Keep up the great work.

  2. Morgan,
Thanks for pointing that out. Must have missed it in the haze that was my weekend. I’ll add the link shortly.
Thanks also for your positive feedback.
    Luke

  3. I dont have a response but just saw the new biofuel station in Victoria. Great stuff.
I occasionally use E10 fuel but have been told that it eats away at the whole cars fuel lines and hoses. I have contacted Citroen about this and they advise that they dont recommend using it in any of there cars? Im really keen to keep using it but am worried about all this what can I do?

  4. That’s a tough one Daniel. There is a difference between Citroen advising you not to use ethanol blended fuel and voiding your warranty if you do use it. I’m unaware of their stance and only you can make the decision.

United Petroleum have been selling E10 locally and I recently started using it in my twelve year old Honda that has been modified and requires 98 octane fuel. The old girl runs really nicely and so far appears more economical. Only time will tell if the fuel causes any damage but due to the age of the vehicle it will still be difficult to blame the ethanol.

My BMW motorcycle will be the next vehicle to transition to ethanol blended fuel. It is quite fussy regarding octane so it will be interesting to see how it goes, particularly on hot days when it has a tendency to ping.

  5. As I understand it, there have been no documented cases of engine or fuel system damage caused by using E10 in Australia.

Like many, I believe the whole thing was an enormous furfy spread by the oil companies who saw 10% of their sales going to CSR and other ethanol refiners.

In the US, they use E85 in the midwest, but this does require a re-tune. In Brazil, I believe they have multifuel cars that can use a variety of ethanol blends … there is a sensor that detects the %.

My 23 year old Volvo runs cleaner and smoother on E10 from Conservo and United. I don’t get that ‘unleaded ping’ on accelleration. And I have the satisfaction of knowing one tank in 10 is renewable. Bring on E85!

  6. I have been using e10 in my 2004 xr ford ute i do 600k a week it runs betterI have read cars can run on 20% without re tuning i am about to start blending my own fuel to 20% and dyno tune the car

  7. HI ,I HAD BEEN USING E-85 ON MY OLDS BRAVADA SUV SINCE SEPT/2007 WITHOUT EVEN CHANGING FUEL FILTER (CHEAP AND RECOMENDED
MY CAR IS RUNNING PERFECTLY ,SO FAR ,MORE THAN A YEAR AFTER
THERE WAS ALSO AN EXPERIMENT DONE WITH A TAHOE NON FLEX-FUEL RUN FOR 100 000 MILES ON E-85 THEN ENGINE WAS CUT OPEN ,THEY FOUND IT WAS CLEANER THAN THE ONES RUNNING ON 100% GAS
IT IS FALSE THAT IS CORROSIVE ON CARS .THAT IS METHANOL ,DIFFERENT TYPE OF ALCOHOL MOSTLY MADE FROM TREES
THE FACT IS IN BRAZIL ALL GAS SOLD CONTAINS 25% OF ETHANOL ALREADY FOR REGULAR CARS JUST LIKE YOURS AND MINE,NOT FOR FLEX-FUEL CARS .THEY USE E-100 (100% ETHANOL ) ON FLEX-FUEL CARS IF IS CHEAPER THAN THEIR GAS(REMEMBER THEIR GAS ALREADY CONTAINS 25% ETHANOL AS WELL).IT MAKE PERFECT SENSE ,EXCEPT ,BIG OIL CARTEL OPPOSSES IT AS IT STEALS THEIR AWFULLY LUCRATIVE BUSINESS
THAT ,COMBINED WITH RESISTENCE TO ANYTHING NEW HAS CREATED AN ANTIETHANOL CAMPAING IN THE MEDIA,WHEN IT SHOULD BE CLEAR IN OIL IMPORTING NATIONS THAT GROWING FUELS HOME MEANS FREEDOM
