Peugeot to release a diesel hybrid in 2008

The 2008 Peugeot 308 range will include a diesel hybrid. The 308 will have a 1.6L turbo diesel mated to an electric motor and battery pack and is expected to use about 4L/100km. Exhaust emissions will be correspondingly low.

Auto Express are reporting that the diesel hybrid will use the company’s 80kW 1.6-litre turbodiesel. They also say the hybrid will get a paddle-shift gearbox, regenerative braking and a nickel metal hydride battery pack.
