Budget funds CSIRO to research alternative transport fuels

From ABC NewsOnline:

The Energy Transformed Flagship, looking into clean energy, will now also look at alternative transport fuels such as biofuels, high density natural gas and the conversion of coal and gas to liquids, to improve the country’s energy security and reduce the dependence on oil imports.

From the CSIRO press release:

Under the expanded program $A59.6m will be provided for the Energy Transformed National Research Flagship to expand research into alternative transport fuels such as converting coal to liquids, gas to liquids, solar gas to liquids, creating bio-fuels and generating high-density natural gas for storage.
