Austrian energy supplier OMV entered a CNG powered car in the alternative fueled and diesel category last season in the Austrian rally series. After success last season they are upgrading their rally car this year to CNG powered Mitsubishi Evo IX that will run in seven races in the 2007 season.

The team had an extremely successful season in 2006, securing fifth place overall and taking the crown in the alternative and diesel fueled class. The team has benefited from development work by the Stohl Racing Team, and is using the Austrian season as a testing ground for participation in international events.
Building on the inherent greenhouse gas reductions from using CNG as a fuel, the company will also calculate and reduce emissions as much as possible in collaboration with The Carbon Neutral Company. The result will be Austria’s first carbon neutral rally team.
